2019 MVAA Cheer

2019 MVAA CHEERLEADING

Registration is open to rising 1st to 8th grade students for the 2019-2020 School Year; Children entering Kindergarten are able to participate as Mascots. Team/Squad placement is determined by the grade entering in August 2019. 

Registration is open from March 16 at 10am to June 1 at 2pm.

Payment at Walk-Up Registration dates by Check or Cash (preferred) or Credit Card. Online Registration payment method is Credit Card only. Service fees apply for credit card payments. Two Payment Plan options are available and require a credit card in system to charge installment payments on due date.

Payment Plans include Registration, Spirit and Fundraising Fees as well as Uniform Rental and Deposit for a total of $415
Payment Plan Option 1: 4 Payments - $105 (3/16), $105 (4/15), $105 (5/11) & $100 (6/15)
Payment Plan Option 2: 2 Payments - $210 (3/16) & $205 (6/15)
Please note that any payment plan installment dates which have passed will be due at time of registration; future dates will be scheduled to be billed to credit card.

Fees due in full at time of Registration include Spirit Package items, Cheer Shoes (required for 4th through 8th grades), and Pre-order Cheer Off t-shirt.

Registration for the 2019 Season

Join us on March 16th for information sessions about the upcoming season. To improve the accuracy of sizing for our cheerleaders, all fittings will be held in May.
Attend in person to take advantage of the following:
  • Board Members and Coaches available to provide details about the upcoming season
  • Offset costs- take advantage of our Payment Plans which spreads Required Fees across installment payments
  • Save by paying by check or cash
  • Registration Gift - First 75 registrants will receive a free gift at check out
  • Chance to win FREE Registration Fee ($185 value)
  • Chance to win a Revolutions Athletics Tumbling Certificate
  • Get necessary paperwork out of the way and pick up GFL Physical Forms

All cheerleaders registered must attend. We encourage everyone to register online prior to coming to the high school. Schedules have been issued for time slots to get everyone in and out as quickly as possible. If you can't make that time slot, please email [email protected] to make alternate arrangements.
By separating fittings, we hope to:
  • Improve uniform fittings - this is the same uniform as last year so there are plenty of actual uniforms to ensure the best fit
  • Decreases the time between sizing and season to better plan for growth
  • Avoid delays with delivery at start of season

Please wear a bathing suit or leotard under clothing and bring socks if fitting for cheer shoes!
2019 Cheer Costs
Required FeesSpirit Package
Total Required Fees are $415 which includes Registration, Spirit and Fundraiser Fee as well as Uniform Rental and Deposit. 

  • $185 Registration Fee includes MVAA Executive Board and GFL fees, Camp Wear, Camp and Clinic fees, Competition registration fees and Choreography
  • $100 Spirit Fee goes to fund your squad expenses for the season. Pep rallies, game day/comp music and end of season gifts and banquets are examples of items paid
  • $30 Fundraising Fee includes MVAA and Cheer Off Raffle tickets. Sell these to friends and family to recoup your money
  • $100 Uniform Rental and Deposit provides use of uniform shell and skirt. Receive $50 deposit refund at end of season upon return of uniform per rental agreement.
These fees can be paid by Payment Plan options.
 The Spirit Package includes personal uniform items of liner, briefs, poms, game day bow, and rain poncho. Total Cost: $68

Returning 2018 cheerleaders who have liner or briefs that will fit throughout the 2019 season or have poms in good condition are not required to purchase new.

  • Required Rain Poncho - $13
Cheer Shoes $30 - Required for grades 4th through 8th. You may not use cheer shoes from last season.

Spirit Package and Shoes are required to be paid in full at time of Registration.
Optional Costs
Warm ups items, cheer bag, GFL Cheer Off t-shirt are highly encouraged but not required for participation. These items will be ordered and paid for separately from costs above. Other optional items such as bag tags or other spirit wear will be available to order as well. Information on how to order these items will be available at Walk-Up Registration, Mandatory Fitting and online when complete registration.
   
Payment Plan Options, Late Fees and Scholarship Opportunities
Payment Plans
 
  1. Option 1: Four (4) Installments due at time of registration ($105), April ($105), May ($105) and June ($100)
  2. Option 2: Two (2) Installments due at time of registration ($210) and June ($205)
Installment payments are required to have a credit card on file. Please note that a service fee will apply to credit card payments.

Late Fee

All fees must be paid by the July 21st Mandatory Parent Information Meeting. Any account with an outstanding balance will incur a late fee of $25 after July 21 and no uniforms, camp wear, shoes, or Spirit package items ordered will be distributed until balance is paid in full.
 Scholarships
Two scholarship opportunities are available. Please read below and apply by the deadlines listed. 

  1. MVAA Cheer Scholarship - Application Deadline is May 11. Scholarship amounts will be determined by funds available and based on needs. Applications will be reviewed and applicants notified of any award by June 8. For eligibility rules and instructions, review/download the Application form.
  2. GCPR Athletic Scholarship - Application Deadline is July 20. Due to the late deadline, all MVAA applicants must pay all fees for reimbursement upon notification of Scholarship Award from Gwinnett Parks Foundation. Visit the information page for the details and links to apply.
